After more than eight months since its inaugural flights, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is taking decisive and accelerated steps to standardize its fleet interiors. This is not merely an upgrade in passenger experience, but a foundational move to establish service excellence as the airline prepares to expand into intercontinental markets with its wide-body A330 fleet, and ultimately, the Boeing 787-9 in the future.
Standardizing the narrow-body fleet, building a consistent experience DNA
The comprehensive reconfiguration of SPA’s narrow-body fleet—highlighted by aircraft A281—marks a transition from rapid deployment to a fully standardized experience, guided by the “Élégance Indochine” philosophy. This refined aesthetic blends French sophistication with Eastern heritage, shaping a distinctive identity for a full-service airline of international standards. Beyond product upgrades, SPA is crafting a consistent “experience DNA” across every touchpoint of the journey.

In Economy Class, seat pitch has been expanded to 29–31 inches, paired with the Hawk Infinity seat line from the United Kingdom. These ergonomically advanced seats integrate USB charging ports and a lightweight structure, enhancing passenger comfort while contributing to reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

Meanwhile, Business Class delivers a noticeably elevated level of relaxation, with seats reclining up to 15 degrees and leg support extending to 238 mm (9.37 inches), offering a sense of ease akin to a premium resort environment.
Materials & experience shaping the “Resort in the Sky”
A defining highlight of this upgrade lies in the harmony of materials and aesthetics. All seats are upholstered in premium full-grain leather imported from Switzerland, complemented by signature tones such as Ochre and Gold, creating a cohesive and distinctive visual identity. From the moment passengers step onboard, they are immersed in the spirit of “Élégance Indochine” and SPA’s philosophy of heartfelt service.

The leather is treated using advanced mineral tanning technology, ensuring durability of up to six years while maintaining natural softness and breathability. It also meets FAR 25.853 flame-resistance standards and is free from harmful substances, ensuring absolute safety.
Combined with a warm color palette and the signature La Festa fragrance, the cabin is thoughtfully curated as a “resort in the sky”—a space where every detail is designed to evoke relaxation, reassurance, and a sense of care.

SPA plans to complete the standardization of its entire narrow-body fleet by October 2026, establishing a consistent experience benchmark across all journeys.
A330 – the strategic bridge to global network expansion
Built upon this standardized foundation, SPA is entering a new growth phase with the introduction of the Airbus A330 wide-body fleet.
By July 2026, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to receive its first two A330 aircraft, fully configured to the airline’s standards, to undergo certification procedures and operational rehearsals for AOC approval by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. The fleet is set to enter commercial service in September 2026, enabling direct connections between Phu Quoc and long-haul international markets such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Australia, Mongolia, Oman, the Czech Republic, and Türkiye.

Beyond expanding long-haul capabilities, the A330 introduces a new benchmark in passenger experience. For the first time, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will offer a Premium Class, providing an additional layer of comfort alongside a fully flat 180-degree Business Class cabin—optimized for intercontinental travel.
From standardizing its narrow-body fleet to deploying wide-body aircraft, SPA is methodically and clearly bringing its “Rise to the World” strategy to life.
The investment in the A330 at this stage also represents a critical step in operational and service readiness, ahead of welcoming its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This forms part of a 40-aircraft order signed with Boeing in February 2026, valued at USD 22.5 billion, with deliveries expected from 2031 onward.
